Charn Cafe is a restaurant and bistro located in Rayong’s industrial district. Designed from the ground up, the project was envisioned as a calm and inviting oasis amidst a setting defined by heavy industry and structure. To create a sense of contrast and retreat, the building is broken into separate blocks — each serving a different function — and arranged diagonally to embrace views of the surrounding water and lush landscape. This layout allows the architecture to flow naturally into its environment, softening the site’s industrial edge. Natural materials like wood, brick, and concrete were chosen to express warmth and authenticity, while also subtly reflecting the owner’s background as a contractor through a gentle nod to brutalist design.
